These Little Twisted Bodies Need Your Christmas Help (1923)

“Thanksgiving, 1923, was the happiest I ever had, writes a mother from Missouri. “These days had become pretty much the same. I had heard of your work for crippled children, and when I read the story in the October Cappers Farmer, I felt that as a Missourian I had been shown. [Sending Christmas Dimes] was a real chance to reveal in a substantial way my thankfulness for the blessings that had come to me and mine. I hope many others profited by that opportunity”

We are glad to tell they did. Christmas soon will be here, the birthday of Christ Jesus, who as the multitude gathered around said: “Verily I say unto you, in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”

It is also the birthday of the Capper Fund for Crippled Children, and we are reminded of this by a letter from little Rose, our first patient who, three years ago next New Years Day, went to the great hospital. It was a Christmas present for Rose, this chance. She is a cripple no more. Each Christmas since then, some child has had a present of like character. The money is helping make such things possible all throughout the year. Wouldn’t you like to think on Christmas morning, in the joy, comfort and happiness of your own home, that you had a part in helping little children walk who never walked before? We need your help to give these children the greatest thing for which they can hope in this world and which but for you may never come to them.
