Jimmy (1935)
Here is one of the beneficiaries of the 1935 “dime shower,” Jimmy, a Missouri boy who at three months old was sent to the big hospital by the Capper Fund for Crippled Children. Once a pathetic little cripple, Jimmy now is the bright-eyed, active, manly little fellow, thanks to the work of the orthopedic specialists, made possible by the Christmas dimes of Capper’s Weekly readers. Another baby is waiting who deserves the chance Jimmy has had and whose mother’s heart is aching because she is unable to do anything for him.
