Vicki (1969)

Vicky was working laboriously at her job gluing the centers in fun flowers, but she stopped to look up with a smile. Hers was a tedious job that required much patience and she tackled it with more enthusiasm than most people. But Vicky is one of the enthusiastic determined people who is a client of the Capper Foundation for Crippled Children.

About 20 clients work in the sheltered workshop. This workshop provides those who otherwise cannot work with a place to be productive. The Christmas project which the clients are working on is fantasy flowers. These flowers are assembled in the workshop.

Other classes which clients are involved in are a budget class, a typing class and an activity group. The budget class deals with managing money and determining the appropriate budget. The typing class allows the clients to learn typing as a skill. They are taught typing the same as students at Topeka West High School. The activity group allows those who would otherwise sit at home a place to come and be active.
